Concept Sketching

Using the process of concept sketching, we, the students, were able to better visualize and brainstorm their ideas for the zika drone, starting with the ground-based one. I for example, went with the idea of using a small robotic arm(operated by an arduino with servos) to collect the water. The idea was to change the claw shape to better fit a test-tube, that then could be manipulated using the robotic arm.

Around that lowered platform(The arm needing to be almost level with the water to collect samples. I built a chasis, including a tread-based movement system to climb over any obstacles in the way. In the back I played storage for these said test-tubes, depending on the turbulence, a capping system might be needed, but it depends on the environment.
