Even using the most basic of programs, sketchup, kids are able to map out and plan room layouts way ahead of time. Around this time last year, I took the task to design our dream lab, with the help of the program sketchup. It was quite obvious from the start that this was sketchup's purpose and I had some ease using it.

Of course it wasn't without it's array of problems, for example, we were using such old computers that the program would freeze regularly. A few of the problems were man-made errors of course, including measurements being made wrong, and misdirection in out plans and whatnot, but overall it was a process that I enjoyed, and we enjoyed seeing the final product of. Well-That is until we got another two rooms, suppose it's time to update the model.
