The mosquito goes through four separate and distinct stages of its life cycle: Egg, Larva, Pupa, and Adult. Most Mosquito lay their eggs in stagnant water (water that isn't flowing) while some lay them in damp soil that will be flooded by water.
• Mosquito eggs are about to size of the tip of a pencil. These eggs are extremely efficient being able to survive months without water and capable of surviving subzero temperatures. Their eggs hatch within 48 hours of contact with water.
• The whole life cycle of a male adult mosquito is 8 to 10 days while a female adult mosquito is 42 to 56 days. A single adult female mosquito will lay 100 to 200 eggs and can lay 3 batches in her life time.
